Ever wondered why heart diseases have become a growing concern in today’s society. The prevalence of these conditions is on the rise, affecting individuals of all ages and ethnic backgrounds; particularly in South-Asians and Blacks. The Voice of BME has taken the initiative of Heart-Friendly club with collaboration of Heart Research UK. Heart Friendly Project is primarily aimed at the BME residents of North Trafford, which is an area of social deprivation and health inequalities. With this project we aim to reduce the risk of heart diseases which is more prevalent in South Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities. Ultimately, this project would also aim to reduce the vascular dementia in our community by promoting better vascular health.
With the help of local medical practices and community outreach people at risk of developing or recently diagnosed with CVD’s will be invited to join the ‘Heart Friendly Club – Old Trafford’. The activities will be based in Limelight Community Hub, starting from October to beginning of December. Activates will resume January to end of July. 36 weeks delivery.
